Whitefish Wedding Photographer, Norman & Tyler

I was so fortunate to be included in this wedding at the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort. Norman & Tyler had a small wedding with around 70 of their closest friends and family who experienced a gorgeous day where clouds and rain stayed in the forecast the day prior and returned the day after. As you can see that was absolutely not the case during the ceremony. Instead of traditional formal wear, they wore traditional philippine barongs which provided a delightful pop of color into the proceedings and made it difficult to deliver too many black and white photos because they looked so great.

Saint Mary, Montana Wedding Photographer, Debra & Christopher

While they're regular visitors to the area due to familial ties, Debra and Christopher were planning their wedding day from the East coast. Naturally, in the best of scenarios, this can make planning and coordinating a wedding without a planner difficult. And when a permitting snafu scuttles plans for a wedding in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park you're forced to fall back to a plan B. Of course when your fallback is family land on the shores of Lower Saint Mary Lake, your plan B is better than many people's plan A!

From getting ready, the first look, the wedding ceremony, and then a family hike in the Two Medicine area the day after the wedding, I really got a chance to get to know both of them and their children, and it couldn't have been more fun. It is so humbling to be included in such a special day.

Whitefish Wedding Photographer, Kathryn & Justin, The Lodge at Whitefish Lake

When I first met Kathryn for coffee at Coffee Traders to discuss the possibility of photographing her and Justin's wedding I had to really try to contain my excitement. While I wasn't able to meet Justin ahead of time, here was an awesome couple—both of whom are pilots—and the plan was for Kathryn to arrive at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake in a floatplane. How cool is that?! Seriously, in my mind, I was almost thinking "Can I pay you to photograph your wedding? Because this is something I have to do."

Thankfully for my own personal livelihood, it didn't come to that and last month, despite gusty winds threatening to scrap the most epic bride's entrance ever, the evening ultimately went off without a hitch. Congratulations to Kathyrn & Justin, thank you so much for including me in your special day, I had a blast with everyone.

Shout out to the other vendors who made this such a night to remember: Venue & Catering: The Lodge at Whitefish Lake; DJ: Sidecar Audio; and my associate photographer Leah Lamberson Photography.

Polson Wedding Photographer, Jojo & Bill at The Barn at Finley Point

What to say about these two. They've got just about the most amazing "meet cute" on earth, and they couldn't possibly be any sweeter than they are. From the moment I arrived Leah Lamberson and I were treated like family by everyone from the couple to the entire guest list. The Barn at Finley Point provided an idyllic setting, with rentals from Barn Door Rentals.

Kalispell Wedding Photographer, Jaimee & Gavin at Diamond B Weddings

I don't think I could've asked for a better couple to share a wedding with for my first "Montana Wedding" than Jaimee and Gavin. From our first correspondence to their wedding day, they couldn't have been sweeter, or more welcoming. It was soon very clear myself and the rest of the vendors were going to be treated as if we were guests of the wedding, so the initial rain that threatened to put a damper on the evening quickly became a distant memory once it stopped, giving way to a beautiful ceremony and one breathtaking sunset to close out the night. Congratulations Jaimee and Gavin, and thank you so much for including me in the evening!

Austin Wedding Photographer, Jana & Michael at The Vineyard at Florence

I very nearly botched any chance of shooting Jana and Michael's wedding in my very first correspondence with them. In my initial response to Jana's inquiry, my phone autocorrected her name to my Mom's name—Jane. I caught the error as soon as I hit send and realized I'd better send an immediate follow-up, explaining what had happened. Thankfully this frankness endeared me to them and I couldn't be more happy about it. Meeting them for lunch before the wedding I knew the big day would be extremely special, and it was. A relatively simple, reasonably intimate wedding with really just their close friends and family meant lots of hugs, smiles, and laughter. The wedding was at The Vineyard at Florence a nice drive north of Austin. A big thanks to my second shooter Jakobeit Photo and a huge congratulations Jana and Michael!

Austin Wedding Photographer, Michelle & William at South Congress Hotel

Michelle & William hosted a lovely wedding with their closest friends and family at the boutique South Congress Hotel in Austin. Despite the Summer timing the weather was amazing and turned into a gorgeous, casual evening of vintage decor, DIY design elements designed by the bride, and ice cream.

Shout out to all of the vendors did an amazing job putting together this truly special, intimate urban wedding: Ashley Nicole AffairThe Moonlight Manor,  Spinning Leaf Films, DJ Marcus Davis, Cafe No SeTiny PiesBHLDN by TheiaPepper PastorLoot Vintage, and my second shooter Jakobeit Photo.

Austin Bridal Photographer, Michelle at South Congress Hotel

Halfway through her honeymoon, Michelle decided she wanted to do a bridal portrait session. So I received an email from the other side of the world several days after her wedding to see if I was available to do something about this. "Of course!" I replied, so I joined Michelle and Blake who were only somewhat jet-lagged from their return trip at South Congress Hotel to take advantage of the venue's wide variety of shooting locations.

One big plus to doing a bridal portrait session after the wedding is I get to share the photos with everyone right away since the groom has already seen the dress. It also means the groom gets to participate in the fun and act as pack animal by carrying the bride's things, helping with the train of the dress, guarding the door to the women's restroom because we just had to get pictures in front of the awesome tile walls, and of course, assisting with getting candid, genuine smiles out of the bride. It was tons of fun, and it was great to spend another evening with Michelle and Blake.

Austin Wedding Photographer, Leslie & Rick’s Private Residence Wedding

Just after Christmas, I had the pleasure of joining Leslie & Rick at their home as they tied the knot surrounded by their family, and I couldn't have been more honored to be welcomed into such a warm and loving environment. Congratulations Leslie & Rick!

Austin Wedding Photographer, Megan & Aubrey at Tiny T Ranch

I feel so fortunate to have met this extremely loving couple and their wonderful families and friends. It was really important to them that everyone including the vendors have a good time and was treated like family and it absolutely felt that way. From the unique setting at Spike Gillespie's Tiny T Ranch just east of Austin towards Bastrop, to the tents around the property where guests were camping overnight after the ceremony and festivities, to the enormous fireworks display serving as a stand-in for the 'send-off' in a nod to Aubrey's father's love of putting on fireworks shows it was a one-of-a-kind experience that I couldn't be prouder to be a part of. Congratulations Megan & Aubrey!
