Surprise proposals always get my heart pumping. And while I won't claim to be as jacked up as the individual popping the question, my heart is consistently pounding out of my chest leading up to the moment they pop the question.

Kolby's proposal was no different, though we did have the time of year on our side—and the weather throwing a chilling assist our way—in that Whitefish City Beach was virtually deserted meaning we didn't have to navigate any crowds, and I didn't have to get creative with the framing or the post-production to remove errant people from the scene.

The plan was for them to drive around checking out the scenery around town after attending a friend's wedding in town. Thankfully, we had had some recent snow and the clouds and Whitefish Mountain Resort were showing off as the sun began to set.

And of course, she said yes.
