The one thing that is missing from a lot of the engagement sessions I am humbled to be able to photograph in our beautiful corner of Montana is a strong connection between the couple and the location. Piper and Kolter's portrait session was the polar opposite of that situation.

They met in college while working for Glacier Park Boat Company on the East side of the park on St. Mary Lake aboard "Little Chief" and "Joy II." So naturally it made sense to return to where their love story started for their engagement photos. We visited the location where they shared a picnic on their first date, and they were able to arrange time on "Little Chief" after the last tour of the evening to close out the session. They even had their employee sweatshirts and a vintage GPBC hat. And we did our best to recreate a photo a tourist took of them that first summer of their relationship.
